This guide helps players navigate the challenging "Cursed" mission in Metro 2033, clarifying objectives and locations. The mission begins after a railcar journey, leading players to a group of defenders at barricaded escalators in Turgenevskaya station.
Locating the Bomb
The defenders explain that an explosives team went missing while attempting to collapse a tunnel to stop nosalis attacks. The player must find and detonate the bomb. Nosalis attacks are frequent; retreat to the defenders for support if overwhelmed. The bomb is located at the far end of the right-hand tunnel. Avoid the ghostly shadows to prevent damage. After retrieving the bomb, proceed to the next step or retreat if necessary.
Destroying the Tunnel
To detonate the bomb, enter the left-hand tunnel (from the defenders' perspective). A cutscene will trigger, automatically placing and igniting the bomb. Quickly escape the blast zone to avoid death. Alternatively, a grenade or pipe bomb can collapse the tunnel, though nosalis will still infiltrate through other routes.
Destroying the Airlock
After destroying the tunnel, collapse the airlock to further secure the station. Ascend the stairs to the right of the main platform (towards the glowing torchlight). Ignore the nosalis and interact with the support columns to place and detonate a pipe bomb. Evacuate immediately after placing the bomb.
