The creators of The Witcher 4 are backing the authors of The Blood of Dawnwalker. CDPR does not compete with Rebel Wolves

Gamers have taken notice of The Blood of Dawnwalker and are drawing parallels to The Witcher 4, largely due to the striking similarities in ambiance and style, attributed to the involvement of former CD Projekt Red (CDPR) staff members. Following the release of the first trailer, the gaming community has been buzzing with discussions about which game might outshine the other. However, both the developers and their former colleagues argue that such comparisons are unwarranted.

An X user expressed their view, stating:

"Dawnwalker looks amazing, just like The Witcher 4*. Both works can coexist harmoniously. One game's success doesn't mean the other's demise. It's not a competition. Let's show respect."

Patrick K. Mills, who contributed to the missions in The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, also chimed in, emphasizing the absence of rivalry between the teams:

"Anyone attempting to pit these games against each other is misguided. Our teams share a rich history; we socialize together, play games together, and our group chats are filled with mutual admiration. There's nothing but love here. The culture war may persist, but these games stem from the same roots and uphold common values."

Philippe Weber, the narrative director for The Witcher 4, highlighted the shared visual elements in the trailers of the two games:

"Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz and I were laughing today about how the 'eyes in the dark' in our trailers were inspired by the TV series Midnight Mass to pitch the concept early on. Many of the creators of these games are friends, and we're thrilled to see our friends succeed!"

Rebel Wolves has set an ambitious goal—to forge a new series of games that can stand toe-to-toe with established franchises. Based on the initial trailer, The Blood of Dawnwalker shows promise as a project that could rival the works of CDPR in its impact and appeal.
