Camo Challenge Tracking in Black Ops 6 Explained

By AriaMay 15,2025

Season 2 of *Call of Duty: Black Ops 6* has officially launched today, bringing with it a brand new feature that significantly eases the grind towards mastering your weapons. The newly introduced Camo Challenge Tracking feature in *Black Ops 6* is a game-changer for players looking to customize their weapons with unique camos. Here's a concise guide on how this feature works and how you can make the most of it.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Gives Simple Access to Camo Challenge Progress

According to the patch notes for the latest update to *Call of Duty: Black Ops 6*, the Camo Challenge Tracking feature is described as follows: “The Challenge Tracker makes it easy for players to manually track up to 10 Camo and 10 Calling Card Challenges they’re actively working toward, but there’s another element of this system that we think players will find useful on the journey to Dark Matter, Nebula, and 100 Percenter: Near Completion.” This feature allows you to select up to 10 camos to track manually, providing easy access to your progress during gameplay, rather than needing to navigate through the main menu. Additionally, the tracker sends notifications for challenges nearing completion, even if they aren't among those you've chosen to track.

How To Track Camo and Calling Card Challenges in Black Ops 6

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Camo Challenge TrackingTo start tracking a specific challenge, navigate to the Camo or Calling Card challenge you want to monitor. If you're using an Xbox controller, press the Y button; if you're on PlayStation, press the Triangle button to add that challenge to your tracker. This allows you to monitor your progress on various camos or calling cards during live matches in *Black Ops 6*, making it easier to know what you need to do next to advance to the next camo.

Even if you don't manually select a challenge, the game will automatically populate the tracker with challenges you're close to completing. This information is always accessible if you're curious about what you're about to unlock. Additionally, the top tracked or near-complete camo and calling card challenges are displayed in the *Call of Duty: Black Ops 6* lobby under the Daily Challenge section, providing a comprehensive list of what's "near complete" and ready to be unlocked.

The Season 2 update has also made the journey to unlocking special camos more manageable. Previously, you needed to unlock nine military camos before accessing a special camo. Now, that requirement has been reduced to just five military camos. However, to achieve the coveted mastery camos, you still need to unlock two special camos.

There's been significant discussion about the overwhelming number of camos available for each weapon and the challenges in tracking progress and earning the necessary headshots and kills. It's clear that Treyarch has taken player feedback to heart, introducing more efficient ways to earn and equip camos, enhancing the overall experience in *Call of Duty: Black Ops 6*.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
