Blizzard Fails to Extend Diablo 3 Event

The beloved "Fall of Tristram" event in Diablo 3 is set to conclude on February 1, much to the dismay of fans who wish for its extension. In response to these requests, community manager pezradar has firmly stated that extending the event is currently not feasible due to its hard-coded nature, which prevents server-side modifications.

Additionally, pezradar addressed the delay of Diablo 3's Season 34 of Call of Light, which has disrupted weekend plans for some players. He apologized for the inconvenience, explaining that the team received short notice about the delay, necessitating adjustments. The delay stems from the need to develop new code to facilitate a seamless transition between seasons, following issues with the automatic scheduler that prematurely ended the previous season. This additional time will allow for thorough testing and ensure the smooth transfer of player progress. Pezradar also acknowledged the need for improved communication with the community in the future.

In other news, Wolcen Studio has announced Project Pantheon, an exciting new free-to-play combat role-playing game that incorporates elements of extraction shooter mechanics. The first closed alpha test for this innovative blend of genres, which combines the intensity of an extraction shooter with the dynamic combat of role-playing games, will commence on January 25 for European players. North American players will join the testing on February 1. Game director Andrei Cirkulete expressed enthusiasm about the project, drawing parallels between Diablo and Escape from Tarkov, and highlighted the game's narrative where players assume the role of a messenger of Death striving to restore order in a ravaged world. The studio is keen to gather feedback from the community during these alpha tests.
