Patch 8 Stress Test Update 1 Arrives With Bug Fixes

BG3 Patch 8 Is So Big, It Needs To Be Stress Tested

Larian has introduced an update to the Patch 8 Stress Test build, addressing numerous bugs, crashes, and scripting errors. A notable fix ensures Gale correctly consumes magical items as intended. This update is exclusive to testers who have access to the Patch 8 stress test on their designated platforms. Those not participating in the stress test will need to wait for the complete patch to enjoy these enhancements.

Key improvements include ensuring containers retain their contents when destroyed, simplifying screenshot functionality in Photo Mode for Steam Deck users, enhancing pose responsiveness, improving cross-play, updating the Booming Blade tooltip, and resolving several crash issues. For a detailed list of these updates, visit the official Baldur’s Gate 3 website.

Patch 8 is anticipated to be one of the final major updates from Larian before they move on from Faerûn. It's set to introduce significant features like platform cross-play, over 12 new subclasses including the Death Domain Cleric, Path of Giants Barbarian, and Arcane Archer Fighter, and the much-awaited Photo Mode.

Photo Mode Is As Customizable As It Can Be

While awaiting Patch 8, players can get a comprehensive preview of the Photo Mode through a dedicated sneak peek video. Larian encourages players to maximize the potential of Photo Mode right from the start.

Photo Mode is accessible almost everywhere—in adventures, during combat, and in multiplayer sessions by the host player. You can arrange companions and characters in various poses, with or without party members, and even include amusing elements like a jumping frog. The free-moving camera enhances the ability to capture the perfect shot.

After capturing your scene, you can enhance your photos with post-processing effects, stickers, and frames. However, during dialogues and cinematic cutscenes, you're limited to adding post-process effects only, without the ability to adjust poses.

Larian plans to release additional tips and tricks videos to further inspire and guide the creative endeavors of the game's budding photographers.
