Baldur's Gate III's eighth and potentially final major patch is undergoing its official stress test. While some Sony console players received early access, players opting out of the test are advised to reinstall the game.

Patch 8 introduces significant improvements, most notably cross-platform play between PC and consoles. Players with linked Larian accounts can now team up regardless of platform. Remarkably, modded gameplay is also supported in crossplay, provided all mods used by the PC player are available on Mac and consoles, and the host's mod count remains below ten.

Another highly anticipated addition is split-screen co-op on the Xbox Series S, a feature previously unavailable on this console.

Further enhancements in Patch 8 include a highly customizable photo mode and twelve new subclasses, adding depth and variety to character builds. Numerous bug fixes and balance adjustments have also been implemented, though some issues may persist. A comprehensive changelog detailing all modifications is accessible on the game's official website.
