Backbone Pro Controller Launches for All Devices

By ZoeFeb 11,2026

  • Handheld or wireless connectivity options
  • Compact design with full-sized analog sticks
  • Convenient Backbone companion app

Following last year's Backbone One 2nd-gen controller announcement for iPhone 16 compatibility, the company now unveils the Backbone Pro – a next-generation controller offering both Bluetooth wireless functionality and direct USB-C connection for physical attachment.

The wired USB-C mode promises zero input lag while drawing power directly from your device, eliminating battery concerns, while wireless operation provides greater portability and usage flexibility. Most impressive is the Backbone Pro's universal compatibility across smartphones, tablets, computers, smart TVs, and VR systems.

Designed as a universal gaming solution, the controller features FlowState Technology for seamless device switching between previously paired hardware. The development team worked extensively to achieve what they claim is "the most compact form factor ever while incorporating full-sized joysticks" – a significant engineering accomplishment.

Additional features include customizable controls with remappable rear buttons and the integrated Backbone app, which provides direct access to gaming platforms including Apple Arcade, Netflix Games, Xbox Remote Play, Steam Link, and Nvidia GeForce NOW. Backbone+ subscribers gain free access to the service's game library.

"We envision a gaming future that extends beyond specific devices," states Backbone Founder and CEO Maneet Khaira. "The Backbone Pro lets you enjoy immersive gaming experiences across any display with just one controller."
