Avowed: Post-Completion Secrets Revealed

By DanielMay 03,2025

In *Avowed*, Obsidian's latest RPG, the expansive world of the Living Lands might give you the impression of a lengthy adventure. However, the main quest is relatively short. If you're eager to explore more after the credits roll, here's what you can expect post-game.

Does Avowed Have New Game Plus?

For those who relish the thrill of replaying a main quest on a higher difficulty with accumulated skills and gear, *Avowed* might initially disappoint. At launch, *Avowed* does not feature a New Game Plus mode. However, the community's demand for this feature has been vocal, suggesting that Obsidian might introduce it in a future update or DLC.

Even without a New Game Plus mode, *Avowed* offers compelling reasons to dive back in. The game's choices significantly impact both the story and gameplay, making it worthwhile to create a new save to explore different endings and character builds.

Does Avowed Have Endgame Content?

*Avowed* is structured around four main regions, plus a secret unnamed finale area and a return to a major city, which we won't spoil here. The final areas provide a challenging experience, but this doesn't extend to previously explored regions, nor does it unlock new areas. Unfortunately, once you've completed the game, you can't witness how your decisions have reshaped the Living Lands, which can be a letdown.

What You Can Do After You Beat Avowed

With no New Game Plus and minimal endgame content, *Avowed's* post-game offerings are somewhat limited. After the final encounter, you'll view several minutes of animatic cutscenes that illustrate the impact of your choices on the Living Lands and its inhabitants. Once the cutscenes conclude, you'll return to the Main Menu.

From the Main Menu, you can start a new journey with a different Envoy or reload a previous save. You'll have access to autosaves from just before the point of no return and before the final encounter, allowing you to replay these sections and make different choices to experience varied story outcomes.

Reloading a save before the point of no return also lets you revisit previous regions. You can complete the map, earn achievements, finish side quests, and collect items you might have missed. Since enemies in earlier areas won't scale to your level, returning to regions like Dawnshore with Legendary Quality weapons and gear can be incredibly fun.

And that's what awaits you after beating *Avowed*.

*Avowed is available now on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox Game Pass.*
