Kai

Encountered early, Kai is your first true Companion, joining your party upon reaching Dawnshore's port near Paradis. A fierce ex-mercenary with a softer side, Kai excels as a tank, sustaining significant damage while dishing it out. His fire abilities prove invaluable for clearing obstacles and uncovering hidden treasures.

Kai's Upgradable Abilities:

• Fire and Ire (Active): A powerful blunderbuss shot, stunning and taunting a single enemy.
• Unbending Defense (Active): Regenerates health and boosts damage reduction.
• Leap of Daring (Active): A powerful leap, stunning and taunting nearby enemies.
• Second Win (Passive): Revives with 50% health upon reaching zero.

Marius

Marius, encountered in Dawnshore, shares a history with Kai. Join him after a bar encounter, choosing dialogue or combat to secure his allegiance. As an expert hunter and tracker, Marius' skills enhance both exploration and combat. His Hunter Sense reveals hidden loot and materials, while his bow, daggers, and nature-based traps prove effective against foes.

Marius' Upgradable Abilities:

• Binding Roots (Active): Roots an enemy in place.
• Heart Seeker (Active): A piercing shot that ignores obstacles.
• Shadow Step (Active): Vanishes and reappears to attack an enemy (up to 3 times).
• Wounding Shots (Passive): Attacks inflict bleeding.

Giatta

Found later in the Emerald Stair region's Fior settlement, Giatta is an animancer whose magic plays a crucial role in the main quest. Giatta provides support in combat, healing, shielding, and buffing allies. Her Spectral Jolt ability activates Essence Generators, opening paths to hidden loot.

Giatta's Upgradable Abilities:

• Purification (Active): Heals all allies.
• Barrier (Active): Provides temporary health to allies.
• Acceleration (Active): Increases ally movement and attack speed.
• Reconstruction (Passive): Attacks partially heal allies.

Yatzli

Yatzli, the final Companion, joins your party during a main quest in Thirdborn (Shatterscarp region), though she can be encountered earlier. A damage-focused mage, Yatzli's spells excel at both single-target and crowd control. Her magic also helps clear obstacles during exploration.

Yatzli's Upgradable Abilities:

• Essence Explosion (Active): Deals explosive damage.
