Assassin’s Creed Shadows Delayed To March 2025 to Implement Player Feedback

Assassin's Creed Shadows' release date has shifted to March 20th, 2025. Ubisoft prioritizes incorporating player feedback to enhance the overall gameplay experience, aiming for a superior, immersive title. This marks the second delay; the game was initially slated for 2024, then February 14th, 2025.

Ubisoft's Commitment to a Polished Experience

Ubisoft's official statement on X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook explains the delay, emphasizing the value of community feedback received over recent weeks. They believe the extra time is crucial for implementing suggestions and delivering a more engaging launch experience.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot further clarified in a press release, highlighting the company's dedication to creating the most ambitious Assassin's Creed game yet. The additional development time aims to fully realize the game's potential and conclude the year strongly.

The press release also mentioned Ubisoft's ongoing restructuring efforts, including appointing advisors to explore strategic options for maximizing stakeholder value. This follows the underperformance of 2024 releases like Star Wars Outlaws and the premature closure of XDefiant.

While officially attributed to incorporating feedback, some speculate the delay might be a strategic response to the crowded February 2025 game release calendar, featuring titles such as Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, Civilization VII, Avowed, and Monster Hunter Wilds. This postponement could potentially garner greater attention for Assassin's Creed Shadows.
