In an exciting update for fans, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot announced in a recent interview on the Ubisoft website that multiple remakes of Assassin’s Creed games are currently being developed. Although specific titles were not disclosed, Guillemot emphasized the potential to "revisit some of the games we've created in the past and modernize them." He highlighted that "there are worlds in some of our older Assassin's Creed games that are still extremely rich," suggesting that fans can look forward to rejuvenated versions of classic entries in the series.

Guillemot also teased a diverse range of upcoming experiences within the franchise. "There will be plenty of experience variety. The goal is to have Assassin’s Creed games come out more regularly, but not for it to be the same experience every year," he stated. This approach aims to keep the series fresh and engaging for its dedicated fanbase.

The future lineup includes titles like Assassin’s Creed Hexe, set in 16th-century Europe and slated for a 2026 release, and the mobile game Assassin's Creed Jade, expected in 2025. Additionally, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, set in feudal Japan, is scheduled for release on November 15, 2024, promising unique and immersive experiences within the franchise.

Ubisoft has a proven track record of remastering its classic titles, such as Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection in 2016 and Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered in 2018. Recent rumors about a potential remake of the beloved Assassin’s Creed Black Flag have circulated, though Ubisoft has yet to confirm this.

Beyond new games and remakes, Guillemot discussed the role of evolving technology in game development. He highlighted significant advancements in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, including a dynamic weather system that impacts gameplay and notable visual enhancements. He also expressed enthusiasm for the potential of generative AI to enrich game worlds.

"Technology is evolving at such a pace that there are limitless possibilities for evolution," Guillemot remarked. "In Assassin's Creed Shadows, for example, we have a weather system that will affect its gameplay; ponds that were once swimmable might freeze, for instance."

"Visually, we're also seeing a big step forward for the series. I have also been very vocal about the potential I see in generative AI and how it can enrich NPCs to be more intelligent, more interactive," he continued. "This could potentially extend to animals in the world, to the world itself. There is still so much we can do to enrich these open worlds to be even more dynamic."
