Witch Ascendancy Classes in PoE2

Infernalist

The Infernalist stands out as one of the most formidable Witches in the current meta, wielding a potent arsenal of fire spells. If you're fond of summoning minions, you'll be thrilled with the new Infernal Hound skill, a direct recruit from the underworld.

For those who fantasize about transforming into a hellish beast, the Infernalist can make this a reality. By adopting a demonic form, the Witch boosts her attack damage and mobility, though at the cost of faster health depletion. To mitigate this, the Loyal Hellhound skill is crucial. Additionally, the Beidat's Will node ties Spirit to maximum HP, necessitating investments in both this stat and Strength. In return, you'll be able to command a formidable army of the undead!

Blood Mage

Though less popular and balanced than the Infernalist, the Blood Mage offers an intensely engaging gameplay experience. With Sanguimancy, you'll constantly balance on the edge of life and death, using HP instead of MP, making reckless play risky.

To counteract this, Vitality Siphon and Life Remnants can drain health from foes. Sunder the Flesh increases the critical hit chance necessary for triggering buffs, while Gore Spike amplifies attack damage.

Sorcerer Ascendancy Classes in PoE2

Stormweaver

The Stormweaver Sorcerer excels in dealing massive elemental damage, often with high critical hit chances that trigger Elemental Storm via Tempest Caller. A key aspect is inflicting status ailments, aided by the Strike Twice passive skill. Using the new Spirit Gems mechanic, the hero can amplify elemental attack damage against groups of affected enemies.

Constant Gale and Force of Will enhance spell casting speed and MP regeneration, vital for a magic-intensive playstyle. The unique Heart of the Storm node significantly boosts survivability by converting part of Elemental Damage into an Energy Shield, ensuring your character can endure multiple hits!

Chronomancer

The Chronomancer brings a novel class to PoE2, not seen in the original game. This Sorcerer manipulates time to control battle dynamics, offering a fresh and innovative combat approach. Spells like Temporal Rift and Time Freeze open up new possibilities for combos and strategic play.

Currently, the Chronomancer may not be the strongest Sorcerer Ascendancy, but it holds great potential. With abilities like Now and Again, which gives a chance to bypass spell cooldowns, Apex of the Moment, which slows nearby enemies, and Quicksand Hourglass, which speeds up magic creation, the Chronomancer offers unique tactical advantages.

Warrior Ascendancy Classes in PoE2

Warbringer

The Warbringer combines war cries with totem summons, focusing on close combat to maximize melee damage. This approach remains effective against bosses, as totems can distract and absorb some of the damage directed at the hero.

Enhance armor penetration with Imploding Impacts and Anvil’s Weight for better effectiveness. Warcaller’s Bellow makes enemy corpses explode upon using a Warcry, while Greatwolf’s Howl removes Warcry cooldowns. For a defensive playstyle, Renly’s Training and Turtle Charm upgrade shield and blocking capabilities.

Titan

Prefer controlling over risking? The Titan is ideal. With powerful, slow attacks, Titans can paralyze enemies, making them break through thick armor before dealing damage. Stone Skin boosts the defensive power of gear by 50%, and Mysterious Lineage increases max HP by 15%, enhancing survivability.

However, Titans aren't just defensive fortresses; they can deal significant damage too. Earthbreaker and Ancestral Empowerment enhance Slam abilities, while Surprising Strength increases damage against stunned foes by 40%.

Monk Ascendancy Classes in PoE2

Invoker

The Invoker enables Monks to harness elemental power, providing access to powerful abilities and status-enhancing effects. This melee-focused class utilizes elemental damage and status effects to devastate enemies and trigger potent effects. The ability to use Power Charges to enhance skills adds strategic depth to this class.

Acolyte of Chayula

This Monk has embraced Darkness, gaining dominion over dark forces from Chayula. The Embrace the Darkness skill allows you to forgo Spirit entirely, increasing maximum Darkness to 100 and granting exceptional survivability.

To further bolster defenses, use Consuming Questions with Mana Leech. However, be cautious, as this setup eliminates the Energy Shield's cooldown, relying solely on MP drain, which, as of version 0.1.1, is not efficient enough. Until this is addressed, this Ascendancy remains less favorable than the Invoker.

Mercenary Ascendancy Classes in PoE2

Witchhunter

The Witchhunter is one of the strongest classes currently, excelling in hunting and swiftly eliminating demons and the undead. It deals increased damage on both the first and last hits, quickly clearing weaker enemies. Against bosses, passive skills like Pitiless Killer, Damage vs Low Life Enemies, and Judge, Jury, and Executioner are crucial for securing victories in tight situations.

Witchbane and No Mercy enable a playstyle focused on reducing enemy concentration and dealing increased damage. The Zealous Inquisition node reflects the Witchhunter’s hatred for demons and the undead, having a 10% chance to make slain enemies explode, damaging their allies.

Gemling Legionnaire

The Gemling Legionnaire's gameplay revolves around gems, focusing not only on their stats and quality but also their color. Thaumaturgical Infusion increases resistances based on the number of equipped stones of a specific color. Crystalline Potential and Implanted Gems enhance skill levels.

Advanced Thaumaturgy reduces skill costs and attribute requirements, similar to Adaptive Capability. Integrated Efficiency adds three additional active skill slots, while Gem Studded allows the use of two identical Support stones, opening up vast potential for experimentation and powerful builds.

Ranger Ascendancy Classes in PoE2

Deadeye

The Deadeye follows a familiar gameplay style for ranged combat enthusiasts. Unique passive skills increase effective attack range and enhance damage output. Endless Munitions allows firing one additional projectile per skill use, perfect for clearing screens of enemies.

This path is ideal for those who prefer traditional bows over modern crossbows and focus on elemental damage. Increased movement speed, extra projectiles, and an additional Mark will be invaluable.

Pathfinder

If green is your favorite color, the Pathfinder is your perfect match. As a master of poisoning, this class continuously drains enemies' health, with double effectiveness. Overwhelming Toxicity doubles the amount of Poison applied but shortens the debuff duration.

Be cautious! The Pathfinder's signature gas grenade, combined with high movement speed and slow resistance, allows you to blanket the battlefield in toxic mist efficiently. If you enjoy poison mechanics and unique gameplay, this path is for you!

Remember, we've covered only twelve of the planned thirty-six Ascendancy Classes. As PoE2 progresses through early access, these are the currently available specialization paths for your characters. More will be added over time, and future updates may alter passive skills, so the details in this guide might differ from the final version.
