Ark: Ultimate Mobile Edition is now available on iOS and Android! This release includes a free-to-play single-player island experience. For access to all expansions (also purchasable individually) and additional benefits, the Ark Subscription Pass is available.
Our earlier speculation was correct; Ark: Ultimate Mobile Edition launched today! A new trailer and details have been released. (For an explanation of Ark itself, please refer to my previous article.)
The game is available on Google Play, the iOS App Store, and the Epic Games Mobile Store. The core Ark experience is free, with expansions offered as individual purchases. Alternatively, a $4.99 monthly or $49.99 annual Ark Pass Subscription grants access to all current and future expansions, single-player console commands, bonus XP, free key drops, and exclusive server access.
Subscription Concerns
The subscription model might be a concern for some players who prefer one-time purchases. However, the option to buy expansions separately mitigates this somewhat. Server access, depending on its implementation, could be a critical factor, given the importance of multiplayer in the original Ark: Survival Evolved.
