ARK: Survival Ascended's Extended Content Roadmap Unveiled
Studio Wildcard has unveiled an ambitious content roadmap for ARK: Survival Ascended, extending through late 2026. This detailed plan outlines a significant expansion of the ARK: Survival Evolved remaster, leveraging Unreal Engine 5 (UE5) for enhanced performance and introducing a steady stream of new content.
The roadmap kicks off with a crucial technical update in March 2025, migrating ARK: Survival Ascended to UE5 version 5.5. This upgrade promises substantial performance improvements and the return of Nvidia's frame generation technology, previously removed due to engine compatibility issues. This update also lays the groundwork for individually downloadable DLC packs, significantly reducing the game's overall install size.
The following months bring a wave of new content:
- April 2025: Free Ragnarok Ascended map, a Bison (free creature), and a Fantastic Tame.
- June 2025: A new premium map (details to be announced).
- August 2025: Free Valguero Ascended map, a community-voted free creature, and a Fantastic Tame.
Looking ahead to 2026, the focus shifts to the Genesis expansions:
- April 2026: Free Genesis Ascended Part 1 and Bob's True Tales Part 1.
- August 2026: Free Genesis Ascended Part 2 and Bob's True Tales Part 2.
- December 2026: Free Fjordur Ascended map and a community-voted free creature.
Throughout 2026, three additional Fantastic Tames will be released.
The roadmap provides a high-level overview, suggesting the possibility of additional unannounced content throughout the next two years. The transition to UE5, coupled with the planned map and creature additions, promises a significant evolution of the ARK: Survival Ascended experience.
