Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator's Global Server to Shut Down
The global version of the mobile RPG, Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator, will cease operations on March 28th, 2025. This announcement comes from Koei Tecmo and Akatsuki Games, just over a year after the game's global launch in January 2024. The Japanese version, launched in September 2023, will continue operation. This creates a stark contrast, as the Japanese server will be celebrating its 1.5th anniversary in March 2025, the same month the global server shuts down.
Closure Date and Final Events:
The global server's end-of-service (EOS) date is confirmed for March 28th, 2025. In-game purchases are already disabled, but players can still utilize any remaining Lodestar Gems. Koei Tecmo has pledged to deliver new content and events leading up to the shutdown. The global version's recent first anniversary celebration (January 25th, 2025) now serves as a bittersweet farewell.
Reasons for Closure:
The developers cited an inability to maintain a satisfactory player experience as the primary reason for the global server's closure. The game struggled to gain traction, facing criticism almost immediately after launch. Player complaints centered around the gacha system, unbalanced gameplay, aggressive monetization, and excessive power creep. These factors ultimately contributed to the decision to shut down the global server.
