Neowiz and Gamfs N have launched the first major content update for BrownDust2 following its 1.5-year anniversary celebration in December. Dubbed Onsen Training, this new update adds a fresh wave of excitement, blending Japanese winter themes with swordplay battles and lighthearted chaos.
A Hot Spring Adventure Awaits
Set in a scenic snowy hot spring locale, the Onsen Training update immerses players in a vibrant story filled with action-packed duels and classic BrownDust2 flair. Expect plenty of challenges—and yes, even some monkey mischief—to keep things lively.
New Characters Join the Fray
This update introduces three brand-new characters:
- Ventana, the determined Kendo Club captain and protagonist.
- Liberta, the friendly hot spring manager who steps in to help Ventana.
- Blade, a legendary Kendo Club graduate who plays a key narrative role but isn't available for recruitment.
Ventana and Liberta can be obtained through the pickup draw system, while Blade remains exclusive to the event storyline.
The Story Behind the Training
The Onsen Training event takes place within the same universe as Character Pack 1: Jayden’s Gate. The story follows Ventana after she suffers a humiliating defeat at the hands of Justia, a skilled new student.
Seeking to regain her honor, Ventana travels to a mystical mountain hot spring said to boost physical strength. However, her training plans go sideways when she crosses paths with the rambunctious Snowy Mountain Monkeys.
Just when all seems lost, Blade appears and rescues her—only to refuse her request for swordsmanship training. That’s where Liberta comes in, vowing to help Ventana prove herself worthy of Blade’s mentorship.
Introducing Onsen Tile Tactics
A fun new mini-game titled Onsen Tile Tactics debuts in this update. Players must clear tiles under time pressure, adding a fresh layer of gameplay variety.
The event is divided into multiple phases, beginning with Legendary Graduate in Week 1 and culminating in Beyond Legend by Week 3.
Epic Boss Battles Return
Players will face off against both familiar and new bosses throughout the event:
- Giant Rou, the popular Fiend Hunter boss, returns during Week 1.
- In Week 3, prepare to battle the fiery Snowy Mountain Tyrant, a massive monkey that grows stronger when targeting enemies affected by DoT (Damage over Time) effects.
- Making its debut is Rucersingha, the Ruler of the Void, a Guild Raid boss with no elemental properties. This formidable foe dishes out heavy damage and requires high chain stacks to defeat.
New Costumes & Gear
Collectors and fashion-focused players won’t want to miss out on the new costumes:
- Onsen Practitioner Ventana costume is available until January 30th.
- Onsen Manager Liberta costume will follow and remain accessible until February 13th.
Head over to the [Google Play Store] now and dive into the Onsen Training event to support Ventana on her quest to become stronger.
